4 Things you must do in Vancouver this Christmas

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and with the countdown to Christmas officially on, it’s time to get in the Christmas spirit and experience all the Christmas magic that Vancouver has to offer.

Here are my top 4 absolute musts to check out this Christmas season, I had so much fun visiting all these magical places and I hope you do to.

1. Capilano Suspension Bridge

Canyon Lights is an absolute must in Vancouver during the Holiday season. This is something I think everyone should experience at least once because it is truly MAGICAL! Surrounded by the most serene setting nestled deep within the rainforest you will be dazzled by thousands of twinkling lights all while listening to wonderful Christmas classics as you explore all that Capilano has to offer. Grab some food by their outdoor fire pits, sip on hot chocolate while you walk under the stars or heighten your experience and walk the exhilarating 300ft high Cliffwalk. Transformed into a world of festive lights and visual enchantment, with some of the tallest Christmas trees in the world, Canyon lights spectacle is so tasteful, unique and exquisitely Christmas in so many ways, you’ll want to re-capture the feeling of excitement and wonder at Canyon Lights this holiday season.

Tip: Avoid weekends-this park sees tons of tourists and locals, visit during the week and save yourself from the crowds.

2. Grouse Mountain Christmas

The peak of Christmas at Grouse mountain is experiencing the magic of Christmas like no other, it’s Vancouvers very own North Pole. As the snow falls and the lights twinkle around you, explore all that Grouse Mountain has to offer this holiday season. With Santa and his reindeer, the joy of meeting real reindeer is unbelievable, a skating rink, outdoor fire pits, exquisite twinkling lights and so much more Grouse Mountain is transformed into a mountaintop Christmas Wonderland and an absolute must to check out this holiday season. This is by far one of my favourite Christmas activities in Vancouver, you can’t help but feel like you have been transformed to Santas village in the North Pole. Experience tranquil beauty and feel the enchantment and radiance of Christmas at Grouse Mountains Peak of Christmas this holiday season.

3. Vancouver Christmas Market

This German inspired mini Santas Village makes for the perfect date night this holiday season. Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, the Vancouver Christmas market has so much to offer. With more than 80 huts of authentic German sweets, treats and treasures, you can share food as you walk the winding alleys, enjoy a winter cocktail under twinkling lights all while listening to live entertainment performed on the Christmas pyramids flying stage or cozy up at the Alpine lounge, WunderBAR’s winter oasis. A beloved holiday tradition for locals and visitors alike, experience the signature yuletide celebration at its expansive seaside site at Jack Poole Plaza.

4. VanDusen Festival of Lights.

One of Vancouver’s largest holiday light displays is back with the dazzling botanical garden covered in more than a million lights to help ring in the Christmas season. Grab a hot chocolate and walk through 15 acres of lit trails including Gingerbread Woods, Lantern Alley, and the Make-a-Wish Candle Grotto, watch the famous dancing lights show on Livingstone Lake, take a photo with Santa, or simply warm up with a winter cocktail at the fireside lounge. I was personally blown away by the tasteful display of twinkling lights and absolutely loved the lit-up Grotto. With so many photo opportunities, I found myself lost in the magic of Christmas at the festival of lights and highly recommend heading here with your loved one for an enchanted date night under the stars.
